Trademark Bandung 2011

@Trademark_Bdg

November 3rd-6th, 2011

In short, you can define Trademark as a bazaar consists of various local fashion-related brands. This is the 2nd time of Trademark (the 1st one was held on February 2011). Since I went to both of them, I can tell that this time is better: more worth-to-visit and well-prepared than the previous one.

As you may have noticed, Bandung is sort of fashion mode capital city in Indonesia. So, actually you can easily find these kind of events in Bandung for all year long.

Yet what does differ Trademark from the other similar events? In my opinion, I think it’s the participants and the creative vibe they create. They don’t just sell stuff. They sell ideas.

Did you go there, too? Are you agree with me? :)

*pictures time!*

Okay, some of pics below may not represent Trademark. But we (me, @carmayden, Tesha, and Mbak Ririn) just can’t help ourselves not to pose with those sexy babies. Frankly speaking, I don’t even know the names of the cars except the Ferrari one… because girls don’t care. Hahaha.

—Mbak Ririn & me

—Karon & Tesha

—Redluscious, mmm!

—Yellowlicious.

—Please, just let me dream for a while.

Doesn’t mean I got no pictures for Trademark, though.

—It was very crowded there!

—Best buy: KulKith Shoes. Mine is a mix of nude suede boots with green batik pattern. Karon’s is a pair of red flat shoes that just don’t seem like batik yet they are. @ Rp170k. Genious & affordable.

p.s. Happy Ied-ul-Adha everyone! Hope it will always remind us the true meaning of sacrifice, sincerity, and prevent us human from such animal-alike behaviors. :)

Because We Have No Fall

Sometimes, living in a tropical country makes me sad. It’s not that I’m not grateful. Aside from our exotic beaches and tasty foods, living in a tropical country means no fall and no winter.

That makes us, girls, can’t blame the weather as an excuse to go down the street wearing fall-iconic fashion items like boots and trench coat without looking too much. Envy. Do I the only one feel this thing or do you?

But the good side is instead of worrying about some new chic apparel for the upcoming season, a jacket and umbrella will be enough for us. Long live simplicity.

Oh, my today experiment resulted in this not-so-tidy manicure. Yes, I’m on period and will be back fasting in a few days, hehehe.

By the way, I’m currently in love with sheer and lacey tops. Plus dying in the search of chiffon midi skirt with fabulous lining. Too bad I’ve looked around shops in Bandung for months but still can’t find one.

So, imagine how excited I am when did the morning browsing and stumbled on this…

Maxi lace skirt by Bittersweet

(look at the lacey sheer maxi skirt)

sheer maxidress

(it’s a sheer maxi dress)

Both photos are courtesy of Bittersweet Shop. Beautiful, but I prefer one in midi length and more color options. Fortunately, I’ll go shopping this afternoon with my girls (Qunyuq & Ria), wish me luck to get the dream skirt, will you? :D

UPDATE!

I got the dreamy skirt in midi length. Happy. :D

And a statement ring, too. Cookie says it looks like a snuggling snake.

Well, boys.

Last Friday, I was looking for some websites to be featured on Tokokoo blog post:

Top UX (User Experience) Features For Your Ecommerce Sites – Part II

…then I kinda stumbled upon Urban Outfitters’ website.
Wow. By the next minute, I hoped I could find a way to break into their inventory warehouse.

So, what’s on this photo is my current wish lists from Urban Outfitters. If I can’t have them in my wardrobe, at least now I have them in my Tumblr. #sad #depressed

The Trending Hijab

Nowadays, wearing hijab is very appealing. It comes in plenty of beautiful forms and colors. As you may also notice, the awards go to those stylish women (e.g. Hana Tajima, Yuna, etc) who popularized various hijab modifications that people like me would never think of it.

(image was taken from somewhere place in Tumblr I forgot. my bad)

Just like a coin with two sides, this trend also bears pro and con arguments. The cons say that some hijab modifications do not meet Islam requirements. The pros say that actually what Islam says about how a woman must dress up is simple:

  1. to show only the palm and face; and
  2. the head scarf should approach the chest.

There is no difficult requirements, like, to wear dark color (: black or navy) only or to hide your face from everyone’s sight.

As long as I remember, there is also some allowance. For example, for a farmer woman, her legs are not considered as awrah since it is not practicable for her to do so. Speaking about practicability, actually Islam just want to make it simple for its people.

The most common misperception is the thought of hijab as femininity remover. Trust me, it’s not. Femininity is not a sin either.

***

That’s some point of view. Now, I’ll just show you my hijaber-wanna-be silly photoworks. :p

Why don’t you wear hijab, you ask me, eh?

Well, I already got a plan for it. Just wish me luck.

Hati-Hati, Crocs KW Ngaku Ori

Lebaran masih tinggal 25 hari lagi.

Betul? :p

Saya juga mikir gitu. Seorang teman pun memberi bocoran,

“Eh, lo mau beli Crocs ori yang murah? Cari di emperan Jl. Riau (RE Martadinata) aja!

#3 Harga

Jangan mudah takluk sama harga murah! Memang sih, harga mahal pun nggak menjamin orisinalitas. But hey, getting original shoes with very very cheap price is just too good to be true. Ingatlah kalau hal-hal yang too good to be true itu probabilitas terjadinya di kehidupan nyata paling cuma 0,01%. Waspadalah kalau ada yang menawarkan barang (nggak cuma Crocs) yang konon ori namun dengan harga kurang dari 30% harga di counter resmi.

.

Perbedaan yang paling kentara sih kalo udah dipakai lama. Crocs ori itu anti bau dan tahan banting (terbukti waktu KKNM kemarin: dipakai jalan-jalan ke puncak gunung, goa, sampai menelusuri karang di pantai pun oke #curhat #bukanpromo). Tapi kalau gitu sih apa gunanya tahu ya, wong udah terlanjur beli yang KW.

.

Sekian, mudah-mudahan bermanfaat. Selamat belanja! :)
